THE HUB – Classic? Or TRASH IT!

classicOn this episode, we once again flex our creative muscles and do some armchair imagineering on our own with a new segment we call, Classic? Or TRASH IT!

The way this segment works is as follows. We decided on a park to work on…in this case, we chose the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Then, we each chose a land to work on so that we did not all work on the same thing.

  • Danny chose Tomorrowland
  • Kevin chose Fantasyland
  • Lee chose Frontierland
  • Eli chose Adventureland

Within each land, we chose an attraction to reimagine. The stipulations are that it had to fit within the allotted space without tearing down anything nearby and it should also be within legal boundaries.

Once you have heard our proposals, you get to vote on each one of our projects. You can either keep the Classic, or vote to TRASH IT and replace it with our new vision. Watch for a poll to pop up the same day we release this show. We will feature the results of our poll on an upcoming episode.

This is the segment in which we get to respond to all forms of communication sent in from the MOWican Nation. For this show, we respond to Ryan Wahl’s response to us and read Steve Kinsman’s story regarding two Stormtroopers, a middle-aged woman, and an unsuspecting janitorial castmember.

TRIP REPORT: Roberge Family

The Roberge’s travelled down to Walt Disney World recently and had sent in a full trip report regarding the experiences on their trip. Today, we will feature two of their segments:

  • their stay at the Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at the Wildnerness Lodge and
  • their experience with the Minnie Van service.

We are planning to feature their other segments on future episodes.

THE HUB – Full Land Intellectual Properties

intellectual propertiesOn this episode, we present a discussion about full land intellectual properties. What does that mean? We are talking about sections of the parks that are based upon one IP. For example, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal’s Islands of Adventure is a land based on a single IP. A little closer to home is Pandora: The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

This conversation was inspired by an article presented by Orlando Informer, https://orlandoinformer.com/blog/indiana-jones-land-animal-kingdom/, in which they address the rumor about Indiana Jones land replacing Dinoland U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The article goes on to discuss full land intellectual properties and they also discuss it on their podcast of the same name.

THE HUB – Cars 3 Discussion

CarsOn this episode, we present a discussion about Cars 3, the Pixar movie released in the summer of 2017 movie season. Since Lee was unable to come on the show for MOW #181, we decided to let him have a majority of this episode. To help Lee out, Mr. and Mrs. MOWnonymous, Richard Hercher and Rachelle Crow-Hercher, come on the show to discuss the movie.

As you may have noticed, when Cars 3 came out in theaters, we never did a movie review. We decided to try something that was suggested by one of the MOWicans. One of you stated that when we do movie reviews the week after the movie comes out, this listener usually does not listen to our show that week because he has not seen it yet. This makes him sad because he misses out on the Magic Our Way fun for that week. So, we decided to delay our discussion of Cars 3, the latest movie in the Cars franchise, and we present it to you now.

Do I need to say spoiler alert? Hopefully, you have seen the movie by now. If not, do it this weekend and then come back to listen to the show before we release the next show.
